Fresh Fest + Early Move In

FreshFest is our pre-orientation program and priority early move-in experience for incoming Jewish freshmen at UM! It’s the perfect way to kick off your college journey—move in early, meet other Jewish students, spend a fun day at Hillel with great programming and free swag, and enjoy exclusive events throughout Orientation Week. FreshFest gives you a built-in community from day one!

Fresh Fest FAQs

Do we really get to move in early? Signing up for FreshFest allows you to move in early and get to know Jewish students on campus from Day 1.

How much is it? The total cost is $360 which covers Early Move-In + All Fresh Fest Programming + Welcome Week Programming

Fresh Fest 2026 Dates

The date for Early Move In is Monday, August 10th. The FreshFest 2026 dates are Tuesday, August 11th and Wednesday, August 12th before Orientation starts

L’Chaim & Letting Go: Parent Welcome Event

Monday August 10
4:00 – 6:00 PM | UM Hillel
Join us for an afternoon of champagne, refreshments, and schmoozing with fellow UM parents as you begin this exciting new chapter with your student. Learn more about the vibrant Jewish life awaiting your Cane at UM Hillel through conversations with our staff about programs, leadership opportunities, and student engagement.  No RSVP required.
Parents will also hear special remarks from:
  • Patricia A. Whitely, Senior Vice President for Student Affairs and Alumni Engagement
  • Ryan C. Holmes, Associate Vice President for Student Affairs and Dean of Students
